Take the Over

Well, for those of you betting on the over from the earlier comment on 24-48 hours, you're looking pretty smart right now. We're quickly approaching the end of day 1 of Baby Watch 2010, and the little guy is hanging in there. He's had a great day. Kendal's had a great day, and I'm reaping the benefits of lots of hospital food. Try the lemon cake, it's fantastic! We're looking forward to big progress on day 2.

The Waiting Game

Kendal is enjoying her "vacation" right now. Relaxing in her Craftmatic II adjustable bed. Just hanging out waiting to see the doctor.

And if you haven't figured it out yet, not much going on. Something tells me it will tougher to post when the action starts. Kendal agrees!

Mr. Dancing Tri-lingual Octopus

Quick story from last night. We wanted to make sure the little guy was still doing well before we went to sleep, so I went and got his favorite (or least favorite) toy. Tough to say right now because it's real hard to see his facial expressions. And, yes, I know what your saying, "how the hell does he have a favorite toy", and "It's official, they've lost their collective mind."

Well, I got the musical tri-lingual octopus and played one of the songs right next to Kendal's stomach. Sure enough he starts dancing along (or throwing a tantrum because he hates it so much, which is probably what I will be doing after I hear it for the 1000th time). So he's happy (or pissed), we're happy. Great night sleep for all.

We are well on our way to losing our minds.

The Last Supper

What do you do when you start having contractions (or as Sheila would say, when you enter Contraction City)? That's right, you go out for one last big dinner.

Then you head right home, pack the car and go to sleep before sunset. Not because you're freaked out by the onslaught of recent, terrible vampire movies, but because, honestly, this might be the last good night's sleep for a long time.

Clam cakes!

Today I found out that Patrick has never had a clam cake. I couldn't believe that this was true, so we hopped in the car and came as fast as we could to Narragansett, RI and came to George's of Galilee.
Now, I know what most of you would say..."But Kendal doesn't eat seafood!". Well, it's a good thing that clam cakes are really much nothing but a ball of fried dough and they do a darn good job hiding those little clams somewhere in there. You can pretty much pretend they are not even there! Delicious!

Game Time!

Kendal, the little big man, and I are ready for the game tonight. We've had an emergency family conference and decided I get 1 cupcake, kendal gets 2, and the little guy gets 1... Yes, you did the math right. Kendal gets 3 and I get one.

Let's Go Celtics!

Bus Stops

I was driving to work this morning behind a school bus. This happens often so I don’t typically think much of it. However today, I started reminiscing about when I used to wait for the bus. Walking to the end of the street, crossing the “busy” Eve Street to await the arrival of our bus with a few other neighborhood kids. I then thought about our son someday doing the same thing. Ha, that would be pretty cool. It was at this point that I realized that the bus I was following stopped at the end of everyone’s driveway. Seriously? And not only that, but they were stopping at driveways that were TWO HOUSES apart. When did this start happening? Wouldn’t this be a much cheaper, greener, easier overall solution to pick up kids at the end of the block. Or would the excessive required cardio work cause parents to ask for the schools to start even later in the morning. What’s everyone think about starting the school day at lunch so our kids can walk ALL THE WAY to the bus stop. Done!

By the way, this is just an email test to see if this whole blog-a-magig works.
