Dinner @ the Old Salt at Lamie's

Having dinner at the Old Salt, Connor SLEEPING politely while we eat. Grandpa telling stories... My favorite... about the old visits with Great Great Nana Dunfey upstairs at the tavern in her apartment, while she played piano. "If you were with her, you were SURE you were her favorite." Sounds like a great time to be...

On an unrelated musical note, Mom and Nana just finished singing along to Eternal Flame by the Bangals. I'm pretty sure the "no singing at the dinner table rule" just got abolished.

Fisherman's platter on the way...

First amusement park

Connor got to go to his first "amusement park" today... at the mall. At least he supposedly loves turtles. If not, he's going to hate his room.

See fox

See fox. See fox run. Fox Run Mall.

Connor loves the beach!

Hot days at the beach...

Hot days at the beach are great, but sometimes cool days at the mall are even better.

So no, we did not go on a tropical jungle adventure today as the picture would suggest. That is Connor and Mom relaxing on a (AC cooled) bench at the mall. Now that's tropical!

Sunrise pt4

Now if we can just find something cool to do for the rest of the day...

Sunrise pt3

And then Mom and Connor joined us minutes later. Family sunrise at the beach. This will probably never happen again. haha. Connor did a great job begging Mom to bring him up to the water for sunrise. He loved it!

Sunrise pt2

Except that Grandma joined us for sunrise. This was obviously a HUGE surprise to Grandpa.

Sunrise pt1

Another fire in the sky sunrise morning at the beach. Today it was Grandpa and Dad who got up for the sun. Breakfast at the seawall. Nothing better...

10th Street

Connor enjoyed dinner last night on the front steps of 10th Street. As mentioned last night, it was a HOT day. But we made it through and Connor and Mom enjoyed the cool breeze on the front steps.

Grandparents rule!

This afternoon Connor's nana and grandpa Dunfey have been taking great care of WonderBoy. This gave Mom and Dad over TWO hours of free time... unheard of.

Great Nana Upham and Great Aunt Fran came to visit today. Connor was very happy see Fran and stopped crying as soon as they arrived.

The waves continue to surge. Surf should be prime for Dad to do some boarding in the morning. Maybe Connor and Mom will come to watch.

Other than that we've focused on staying as still as possible... It's HOT. Great beach days...

Sunrise Earth

Big surf and cool weather. Why watch a TV show when you have the real thing down the street? Gotta love the beach.

The cool sea air got the best of Connor's sinuses last night so he's in bed with mom. That leaves dad to roam the earth for a good sunrise.

Day 1 in the books

As we type, connor is out on a walk with Nana and Grandpa... Ok, as with all things Connor, this post was started over an hour ago... It will now be wrapped up as I inflate a yoga ball with a foot pump in anticipation of bouncing Connor boy to sleep.

Nana and Grandpa went for a great walk with Connor "after dinner". Ok, so it was after their dinner, which allowed Kendal and I to finish ours. They had a great walk and Connor came back very happy.

Before dinner, we hit the beach. Connor loved the beach sounds while Dad and Grandpa got rocked by hurricane effect waves and currents. After getting leveled by one wave they got out, just as a surfer washed up on shore like a beached whale. So they pushed the surfer back into the ocean and we think he made it.

... It's now been almost 2 1/2 hours since I began this post... Temp has dropped to low 60s... Perfect. Goodnight (?) from Hampton.

Summertime...

... and the livin's easy.

Connor sure loves himself some laid back livin at the beach.

Leg 1 complete!

Amazingly, we made it to Hampton in record time... That is, we didn't have to stop once with Connor boy. He slept the entire way, except for a couple glimpses at our progress. We have about half of his things "moved in" right now. The movers should come along soon enough to help with the heavy stuff.

Next stop, the beach...

East Coast Tour 2010

Connor is 2 months and 5 day old today, and ready to hit the road on his first major vacation. We had some good road-trip practice with Timberman last weekend, but this will be the real deal. 2 weeks, three cities, 2 east coast beaches. He can't wait.

And what beautiful weather we have for the first leg of the tour. Hampton Beach here we come. Hopefully not TOO beautiful. A high over 90 predicted for today, but cool at night. Going to be a perfect beach weather we hope!

I've just started packing this morning, and I'm hoping there will be room for at least one pair of clean underwear for me. If not, I'll only able to carry the clothes on my back, so I'll just have to "layer". We're hoping to get up to the beach for lunch... which will be the first challenge of the tour.
